Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that the OSCE Minsk Group has lost its relevance and emphasized that there are real opportunities to achieve lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia — provided that concrete steps are taken.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili in Tbilisi, Bayramov said the Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process was a key topic of discussion during their meeting.
“We provided detailed information about the post-conflict developments. The outlook for peace is encouraging, but it is critical to move forward with concrete actions. Unfortunately, Yerevan has yet to fulfill its commitments,” Bayramov said.
He underscored the need for Armenia to remove territorial claims from its constitution and reiterated Baku’s position that the Minsk Group — once tasked with mediating the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict — is now obsolete.
The Azerbaijani minister also said that the talks included discussions on border delimitation, reconstruction efforts in territories liberated from occupation, the return of internally displaced persons, and the ongoing threat posed by landmines.
Bayramov highlighted the strong potential for continued cooperation between Baku and Tbilisi, particularly in strategic development and regional integration.
“In the coming months and years, we expect to take more targeted steps in advancing our partnership,” he noted.
He also pointed to growing opportunities in the tourism sector, citing the favorable geographic positioning of both countries as a solid foundation for joint initiatives.
