Voronezh, August 16, 2025 — Azerbaijani entrepreneur Yusif Khalilov has once again been detained by Russian authorities in Voronezh, according to reports from local Telegram channels.
Khalilov, a co-owner of the city’s Alekseevsky Market, is suspected of attempting to bribe officials. While details of the case remain unclear, law enforcement sources indicate the charges are connected to alleged illicit financial dealings.
This is the businessman’s second detention this summer. On July 1, he was taken into custody under similar suspicions but was later released following preliminary investigative measures.
A court hearing on whether to impose pre-trial detention on Khalilov is scheduled for August 17. So far, Russian authorities have not issued an official statement on the case.
