Azerbaijani boxer Subkhan Mamedov (50 kg) has won the European U-23 Championship, securing the title with a decisive victory in the final bout.
The national team standout delivered a commanding performance against Ukrainian boxer Maksym Rudyk, winning all three rounds and closing the match with a score of 4:1 (28:29, 29:28, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27).
The result marks one of Azerbaijan’s strongest showings at this age level in recent years.
The team coached by Elbrus Rzayev finished the tournament with three medals overall:
Gold: Subkhan Mamedov (50 kg)
Bronze: Tagi Nasibov (60 kg)
Bronze: Sabukhi Alizade (+90 kg)
A total of 271 boxers from 33 countries competed at the championship.
