Azerbaijani border guards have intercepted an attempt to smuggle drugs from Iran using a drone.

This was reported by the State Border Service (SBS).

According to the information from the agency, on July 28, as a result of border search and operational measures carried out in the service area of the “Goradiz” border detachment of the SBS Border Troops, an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics from Iran to Azerbaijan using a drone was prevented.

As a result of the search and operational activities in the border zone, 12.1 kg of marijuana and 399 M-40 methadone tablets containing narcotic substances were discovered and seized.
