Azerbaijani Air Force Conducts Training Flights with Fighter Jets and Helicopters

Baku, August 16, 2025. The Azerbaijani Air Force carried out planned training flights as part of this year’s combat readiness program, the Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday.

Fighter jets and helicopters were deployed to test both theoretical and practical skills of military pilots.

Pre-Flight Preparation

Before taking to the skies, pilots underwent checks of their theoretical knowledge, focusing on flight conditions and safety rules. Aircrews also received detailed briefings to ensure coordination during the drills.

Training Missions Executed

The exercises included a series of missions:

  • take-offs and landings at base airfields,

  • flights along designated routes,

  • detection of aerial and ground targets in coordination with command posts,

  • and other tactical tasks designed to simulate combat conditions.

Objective of the Drills

According to the Ministry of Defense, the goal of the exercises was to sharpen the operational readiness of aviation units and enhance the practical skills of military pilots. The training also strengthened coordination between aviation units and command headquarters, ensuring effective response to potential threats.
