The Azerbaijan women’s 3×3 basketball team claimed a historic silver medal at the FIBA Europe Cup in Copenhagen, Denmark.
As Report notes, the team reached the final for the first time in its history, ultimately falling to the Netherlands 16:21 in a competitive championship game.
On the road to the final, Azerbaijan put together a remarkable run: defeating France (21:16) and Ukraine (21:14) in the group stage, overcoming Poland (16:13) in the quarterfinals, and outplaying Spain (21:17) in the semifinals.
Despite the narrow loss in the title match, the Copenhagen performance is being hailed as a breakthrough for Azerbaijani women’s basketball, highlighting both the talent and resilience of the squad on the continental stage.
