Azerbaijani boxers achieved outstanding results at the European U-19 Boxing Championship, securing a total of five medals, including one gold, one silver, and three bronze.
According to the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, Bilalkhabashi Nazarov (50 kg) claimed the European Champion title, confidently defeating Italy’s Tommaso Orlando in the final with a score of 5:0. This marks Nazarov’s second consecutive gold medal at the continental championship.
In the women’s division, Banuchichek Nasirli (48 kg) earned a silver medal, after a strong performance in the final against France’s Mathilde Fragnier.
Earlier in the tournament, Zidan Gumbatov (55 kg), Subkhan Babayev (60 kg), and Ilkana Akhmedova (80 kg) each won bronze medals, completing Azerbaijan’s successful showing in Ostrava.
The Azerbaijani delegation will return home on October 11.
