Azerbaijan Welcomed Over 237,000 Foreign Visitors in June

BAKU, July 24, 2025 — Azerbaijan received 237,509 international visitors in June 2025, marking an 11% decrease compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the State Tourism Agency.

Russia remained the top source of inbound tourism, with 73,415 Russian nationals visiting the country — an 11% drop year-on-year. Turkey followed with 40,326 tourists, showing a 5% increase, while Iran ranked third with 15,297 visitors, down 11% from June 2024.

Other notable figures include:

  • Saudi Arabia: 10,300 tourists (–29%)

  • Kazakhstan: 9,900 tourists (+11%)

  • India: 9,900 tourists (–65%)

  • Georgia: 8,000 tourists (–10%)

  • Pakistan: 7,900 tourists (+4%)

  • China: 7,200 tourists (+76%)

  • Uzbekistan: 5,000 tourists (+17%)

  • Israel: 3,400 tourists (–18%)

  • Ukraine: 3,300 tourists (–1%)

  • South Korea: 3,000 tourists (+4%)

  • United States: 2,900 tourists (+22%)

  • Turkmenistan: 2,700 tourists (+12%)

The significant rise in visitors from China and the U.S., contrasted with steep declines from India and Saudi Arabia, reflects shifting travel patterns in the region. The tourism authority continues to monitor global trends as Azerbaijan aims to diversify its tourist base in the post-pandemic period.
