A new artificial intelligence solution has been developed in Azerbaijan and will soon demonstrate its effectiveness, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport announced.
Deputy Minister Samaddin Asadov spoke about the project at the scientific-practical conference “Prospects of Artificial Intelligence in Combating Climate Change”, organized by the Parliamentary Committee on Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology.
According to Asadov, the legal and regulatory fields contain an enormous amount of information, and AI has already begun to simplify access to it:
“Around 30,000 users are now registered in the AI-based legislative search system – not only lawyers, but also government employees and civil society representatives. Thanks to AI, they can easily understand what laws exist and what procedures must be followed. This is a major achievement in a short period of time.”
Ethical Standards and Data Infrastructure
Asadov said the ministry is developing special standards to ensure the ethical and responsible use of AI.
More than 1 billion data units are planned to be made openly accessible to the public, enabling private companies, startups, and research institutions to build AI models using state-approved datasets.
“AI models created in our country must serve humanity, not become a source of future threats. This is why applying dedicated standards is critically important,” Asadov stressed.
Two Key Conditions for AI Development
The deputy minister highlighted that global AI strategies adopted by more than 50 countries share two fundamental requirements:
Large volumes of data
Infrastructure capable of processing this data
He added that Azerbaijan is prioritizing both – along with developing the skilled workforce needed to operate these systems.
“We pay special attention to training specialists who can work with data and manage the infrastructure. This is essential for building effective AI systems,” Asadov noted.
