Discussions also touched on recent high-level visits, including President Aliyev’s January trip to the UAE and Sheikh Mohamed’s visit to Azerbaijan earlier this year — both seen as pivotal in strengthening diplomatic momentum between the nations.

The two sides highlighted ongoing energy collaboration, particularly between SOCAR (Azerbaijan’s state oil company) and ADNOC, as well as growing partnerships in renewable energy with UAE-based Masdar.

Aliyev and Sheikh Mohamed also discussed regional cooperation, including the recent Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit held in Khankendi — a city at the center of geopolitical interest in the South Caucasus. UAE participation in the summit was acknowledged as a sign of deepening regional engagement.

The meeting concluded with a symbolic gesture, as President Aliyev presented Sheikh Mohamed with a commemorative gift.
