Azerbaijan is set to introduce official competitions in Heyball, a rising cue sport also known as “Chinese Pool” or the “Chinese Eight-Ball,” according to Seymur Mammadov, President of the Azerbaijan Billiards Federation.
“This is a relatively new discipline that blends elements of snooker and pool,” Mammadov said in comments to Media.az. “We are actively working on promoting the sport in Azerbaijan, and organizing local tournaments is part of that plan.”

Heyball has been rapidly gaining popularity internationally, particularly in Asia, due to its dynamic rules and hybrid format. Mammadov noted that introducing the sport locally could help attract new audiences and offer fresh competitive opportunities for players in the country’s growing billiards community.
