More than $5.5 billion worth of agreements were signed on the opening day of the Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025), Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov told reporters on Monday. He added that additional agreements and memoranda are expected to be concluded on the second day of the event.

Jabbarov called the forum a “logical result” of the declaration signed on August 8 by President Ilham Aliyev, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, which outlined new avenues for regional economic cooperation. “Looking at the scale and quality of the participants, it is clear how strong international business interest in Azerbaijan has become. Politically, the forum is being held under the patronage of President Ilham Aliyev,” he said.

Organized by the Ministry of Economy and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), the two-day forum brings together government officials, business leaders, and international investors. President Aliyev’s message to participants was delivered by Shahmar Movsumov, head of the presidential department for economic affairs and innovation policy.

The AIIF is positioned as a unique platform for exploring investment opportunities in countries at the crossroads of East and West, while shaping the future of global trade and resilient supply chains. Discussions cover energy, transport, industry, agriculture, digital development, healthcare, and real estate.

The forum concludes on September 23, with further signing ceremonies expected.
