Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia reached $4.508 billion in January–November this year, according to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
The figure is $129.8 million, or 3% higher, than in the same period of 2024. Russia accounted for 10.11% of Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade, ranking third among the country’s largest trading partners during the reporting period.
Azerbaijan’s exports to Russia totaled $1.088 billion, up $3.7 million, or 0.3%, year on year. Exports of non-oil products to Russia amounted to 1.079 billion manats, an increase of $10.78 million, or 1%, compared to the previous year.
Non-oil exports to Russia made up 32.52% of Azerbaijan’s total non-oil exports, making Russia the largest buyer of Azerbaijani non-oil products.
Imports from Russia to Azerbaijan reached $3.420 billion, up $126 million, or 3.8%, compared to January–November 2024. Russia ranked second among countries exporting the largest volumes of goods to Azerbaijan.
Separately, in January–November 2025 Azerbaijan exported a total of 22.804 billion cubic meters of natural gas (in gaseous form) worth $8.117 billion. In value terms, gas exports rose by $513.3 million, or 6.7%, year on year, while export volumes declined by 718 million cubic meters, or 3%. Natural gas accounted for 34.69% of Azerbaijan’s total exports during the period.
Overall, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover with all countries amounted to $44.589 billion in January-November, up $1.48 billion, or 3.4%, compared to the same period last year.
Exports totaled $23.401 billion, while imports stood at $21.188 billion. Compared to last year, exports declined by $937 million, or 3.8%, while imports increased by $2.416 billion, or 12.9%.
As a result, Azerbaijan recorded a positive trade balance of $2.213 billion, which is $3.353 billion lower, or 2.5 times less, than a year earlier.
