BAKU, August 4, 2025 — The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan has approved amendments to the rules for forecasting state budget revenues, excluding freight transportation companies from the simplified tax revenue calculations.
According to the updated decree, signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, the government will no longer factor in simplified tax revenues from freight carriers when projecting budgetary income.
The changes affect the classification-based calculation of non-oil revenues in the national budget, as outlined in the original framework adopted in January 2020.
The move is part of a broader effort to refine fiscal forecasting models and better align tax policy with sector-specific economic dynamics.
