In a new episode of the YouTube program ГЕОПОЛИТИКА С БАРВИНЕНКО Azerbaijani analysts Chingiz Mammadov and Shahin Julfa said Baku is recalibrating its foreign policy around leverage on Russia, conditional peace with Armenia, and a fast-rising partnership with China.
Mammadov argued Azerbaijan now expects Moscow to apologize for the downing of its aircraft and to stop pressure on Azerbaijanis inside Russia – a demand he said shows how far the balance has shifted since the 1990s.
He also warned that Turkey – Armenia transit projects will not open until Yerevan signs a full peace deal with Baku.
Both experts pointed to China as the key external partner beyond the West, noting the elevation of ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership this year.
Julfa stressed Chinese credit and investment as vital for Karabakh reconstruction, while Mammadov highlighted Huawei tech cooperation and the importance of Baku’s role in the Middle Corridor.
