Azerbaijan Positions Itself as Regional Stabilizer at Vienna Conference

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov participated in the 4th European Conference on Azerbaijan Studies during his working visit to Austria.

According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the event brought together policymakers, think tank analysts, scholars, and independent experts to discuss Azerbaijan’s evolving strategic vision and the country’s key foreign-policy priorities.

During a roundtable session, Bayramov emphasized Azerbaijan’s growing regional role as a stabilizing force, noting that Baku’s diplomatic engagement is becoming increasingly important at a time when global cooperation requires deeper trust and stronger institutional effectiveness.

Bayramov also highlighted two major international events that Azerbaijan will host in 2026:

  • the 13th World Urban Forum, and

  • World Environment Day.

These platforms, he said, will unite global discussions on sustainable urbanization, resilient housing, clean-energy infrastructure, and climate-finance mobilization – underscoring Azerbaijan’s commitment to both regional and global responsibilities.

The minister recalled the outcomes of the Washington Summit on August 8, where Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a joint declaration and advanced several key documents. He noted that the closure of the OSCE Minsk Process structures marked an international acknowledgment of the new post-conflict reality in the South Caucasus.

Focusing on transport and energy connectivity, Bayramov reiterated Azerbaijan’s commitment to strengthening corridors that link the Caspian and Black Sea regions.

He stressed that peace, regional interconnectivity, economic security, and sustainable development will continue to define Azerbaijan’s diplomatic agenda in the years ahead.
