Azerbaijan Launches Three New AI Platforms

The National Artificial Intelligence Center has launched three new AI projects aimed at expanding digital services, strengthening national infrastructure, and accelerating the country’s technological development. The announcement was made by Center representative Ibrahim Suleymanov at the event “Communicating AI Standards to Media Representatives,” Report said.

According to Suleymanov, the largest of the new initiatives is e-qanun AI, a joint project with the Ministries of Digital Development and Transport and Justice. The system enables users to conduct fast searches and receive AI-powered legal analysis of their queries.

He added that the Center has already built a community of more than 3,000 members, trained over 15 AI specialists who now work alongside the Center, and currently provides education to more than 100 AI engineers.

GPU Modules Being Installed in National Data Centers

Suleymanov also announced that Azerbaijan has begun installing Graphics Processor Modules (GPUs) in state data centers as part of the country’s expanding high-performance computing infrastructure. The equipment has been purchased and installation work is underway.

In the near future, government agencies will be able to run their artificial intelligence projects on this upgraded infrastructure. The Center has also started cooperation with several universities, where students will soon begin developing AI-focused startup projects.

One of the strategic goals, Suleymanov said, is the launch of a competition platform where students and young professionals will present AI solutions to public challenges. The best submissions will receive awards, and the platform will operate continuously with regular competitions.

National AI Dataset and Interactive Learning Platform Planned

Another priority is the creation of a national Azerbaijani-language dataset to support the development of AI systems based on local-language resources. An interactive educational platform is also planned, giving students and schoolchildren accessible tools to learn AI fundamentals. The platform will feature structured learning paths and introductory modules.

Eight National AI Standards Already Approved

Suleymanov noted that Azerbaijan has approved eight national standards in the AI sector, including four adopted in 2025. While artificial intelligence improves efficiency and decision-making, he said, improper or uncontrolled deployment can pose serious risks.

He stressed that standards are essential for preventing misuse, ensuring safety, and maintaining public trust: even minor system failures could undermine confidence in the national AI ecosystem. Ethical use, secure handling of personal data, and the accuracy of datasets are key principles guiding these standards.
