Azerbaijan is expanding the list of information prohibited from being disseminated on internet-based platforms.
The issue is reflected in proposed amendments to the Law “On Information, Informatization, and Information Protection,” which were discussed at today’s session of the Milli Majlis.
Under the draft amendments, owners of internet information resources and domain names, as well as users of information and telecommunications networks, will be prohibited from allowing the publication of content deemed offensive to public morality or openly expressing disrespect toward society.
This includes, in particular, the public dissemination of obscene language, gestures implying such content, or the demonstration of body parts in a manner considered contrary to moral standards and national or spiritual values.
The draft amendments were put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.
