Azerbaijan and the European Union have held talks on the current state and future prospects of their cooperation, as well as the ongoing normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said Thursday.
Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Magdalena Grono. The two sides reviewed cooperation across political, economic, transport, and energy sectors, noting the value of continued dialogue through various EU-Azerbaijan platforms and mechanisms.
Both officials welcomed the recent high-level exchanges between Baku and Brussels, emphasizing the importance of sustaining momentum in bilateral engagement.
Grono reaffirmed the EU’s readiness to support agreements reached during the Washington summit earlier this year.
Bayramov briefed the EU envoy on progress made in the peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia and reiterated Baku’s position on key issues in the normalization process. The meeting also included an exchange of views on broader regional and international developments of mutual interest.
