BAKU, Sept. 18
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met visiting European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos to review ties between Baku and the European Union and discuss the regional agenda, the Foreign Ministry said.
Talks focused on energy security, transport routes and renewable energy, with both sides underscoring the role of high-level contacts in strengthening relations. Cooperation on climate change and environmental pollution was also highlighted, according to the ministry readout.
Bayramov briefed the Commissioner on the post – conflict regional situation and expressed satisfaction with the understandings reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia during the August meeting in Washington. The minister reiterated that Azerbaijan – having initiated the normalization track – intends to keep advancing a regional peace agenda.
The two sides also exchanged views on a range of bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest, the statement added.
