Azerbaijan Discusses Innovation and Cloud Cooperation with Google and Amazon Web Services

Azerbaijan has begun new rounds of digital-sector talks in the United States, exploring partnerships with global tech giants Google and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate the country’s innovation ecosystem, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity capabilities.

Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev announced on X that he met with Rachel Coleman, Google’s Head of International Government Affairs, to discuss wide-ranging cooperation frameworks.

“As part of our visit to the United States, we met with Rachel Coleman of Google,”
Nabiyev wrote.
“We discussed opportunities for collaboration on building an innovation and startup ecosystem, including cloud innovation laboratories and skills-development programs.”

In a separate post, Nabiyev said he also held talks with Dominic Delmolino, Vice President for Technology in AWS’s Global Public Sector division.

The meeting focused on:

• expanding Azerbaijan’s cloud infrastructure,
• advancing digital transformation of public services,
• strengthening national cybersecurity resilience, and
• supporting the growth of an innovation ecosystem.

“We exchanged views on cooperation in digital transformation of government services, cybersecurity capability development, and expanding the innovation ecosystem,”
the minister noted.

The U.S. visit comes as Azerbaijan accelerates its national digital agenda, seeking deeper integration with leading technology providers to modernize public services, expand cloud-based governance, and promote competitiveness among startups.
