A proposal to introduce additional state benefits for women with three or more children was raised in the Milli Majlis during a joint session of parliamentary committees.
The initiative was put forward by Hijran Huseynova, head of the Committee on Family, Women and Children.
Huseynova noted that while the government already implements various social support programs for large families, the current framework is no longer sufficient.
“After examining international experience, we propose introducing certain new benefits for women who have three or more children,” she said.
The MP also drew attention to gaps in the implementation of healthcare services in educational institutions. According to existing legislation and Cabinet decisions, medical services must be provided in both kindergartens and schools. These medical units are responsible for primary care for children, teachers, and staff.
However, Huseynova stressed that the situation on the ground “is far from the standards.”
“Unfortunately, many kindergartens and schools have no medical personnel at all,” she said. “The same is true for psychological services. Identifying the need for psychological support early often helps prevent more serious consequences.”
Huseynova urged relevant agencies to enhance both medical and psychological support systems in educational facilities, adding that stronger services are essential for children’s well-being and for supporting families nationwide.
