Azerbaijan has risen to second place in the overall medal standings at the 3rd Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Games, according to Report.

As of today, Azerbaijani athletes have earned 23 gold, 44 silver, and 67 bronze medals, marking one of the country’s strongest performances in recent years at a multi-sport event.

Russia continues to dominate the rankings with 89 gold, 40 silver, and 28 bronze medals, while Belarus follows in third place with 20 gold, 23 silver, and 38 bronze.

A total of nine countries have won medals so far in the competition, which brings together young athletes from across the CIS region.
