Azerbaijan and China have held discussions on cooperation in the field of financial regulation and digital currency, the Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Taleh Kazimov said in a post on X.
In the course of our working visit to the People’s Republic of China, we met with Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People’s Bank of China.

Kazimov stated that as part of his working visit to China, he met with Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People’s Bank of China.
“During the meeting, we discussed issues related to monetary policy and financial stability, payment systems, QR and mobile payment solutions, as well as regulatory frameworks for payment service providers,”
he wrote.
According to Kazimov, the sides also exchanged views on digital currency regulation, including approaches to oversight and technological standards in this rapidly developing field.
“We also shared our thoughts on expanding cooperation between the central banks of Azerbaijan and China, along with other matters of mutual interest,”
he added.
The meeting reflects Baku’s growing engagement with China in financial innovation, particularly as both countries explore advancements in digital payments and central bank digital currency (CBDC) ecosystems.
