Baku, September 17, 2025
Azerbaijan manufactured 2,309 passenger cars in January – August 2025, a decline of 12.1 percent compared with the same period last year, according to the State Statistics Committee, cited by Report.
As of September 1, the country reported a stock of 16 unsold passenger cars.
In total, production of machinery, vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers amounted to 397.4 million manats over the eight-month period. While machinery output rose by 0.7 percent, the manufacturing of vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers fell by 24.8 percent year-on-year.
The industrial report also highlighted declines in other vehicle categories:
Tractors: 353 units produced, down 14.1 percent, with 9 units in stock.
Trucks: 220 units produced, down 43.6 percent, with 61 units in stock.
The figures point to persistent challenges in Azerbaijan’s automotive industry, despite efforts to expand domestic manufacturing and reduce reliance on imports.
