Turkey remained the largest importer of Azerbaijani natural gas in the first seven months of 2025, accounting for 40.2% of the country’s total gas exports, according to the State Statistics Committee cited by Report.
From January to July, Azerbaijan exported more than 14.4 billion cubic meters of gas – a 4.1% increase year-on-year – worth over $5.27 billion, up 10.8%. Gas was supplied to six countries: Turkey, Italy, Georgia, Bulgaria, Greece, and Serbia.
Turkey topped the list, importing 5.79 billion cubic meters of gas (down 0.7%) valued at $1.59 billion (down 12.1%). Italy ranked second with a 37.7% share, receiving 5.43 billion cubic meters (down 6.3%) worth $2.74 billion (up 19.9%). Georgia placed third with a 9.9% share, importing 1.43 billion cubic meters – more than double the previous year – for $159.6 million, a 1.5-fold increase.
Azerbaijan’s steady export growth underscores its role as a key regional energy supplier, with diversified routes and markets spanning Southern Europe and the Caucasus.
