The roundtable brought together ambassadors of Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan in Washington, as well as senior representatives of the U.S. government and members of the business community.

Participants discussed the role of the TRIPP initiative in strengthening regional connectivity and securing a sustainable U.S. economic presence along the Middle Corridor.

Director and Special Envoy for Peace Missions at the U.S. Department of State Vinay Chawla said that the August peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan, reached with the support of the U.S. administration, marked a historic breakthrough.

“TRIPP is a way to ensure the durability of this peace by transforming a transit route into a driver of shared prosperity,” Chawla said.

Ambassador Khazar Ibrahim noted that the leaders’ summit held in Washington in August played a historic role in advancing the regional peace process.

“Azerbaijan has long promoted the principles of connectivity and cooperation, building strong partnerships with Türkiye, Georgia, and Central Asian countries. Ensuring the success of the TRIPP project as a key component of the Middle Corridor is of critical importance,” he said.

Armenian Ambassador Narek Mkrtchyan emphasized that U.S. engagement would help translate the initiative into tangible benefits for the South Caucasus, Central Asia, and beyond.

“I welcome the constructive engagement with our Azerbaijani colleagues and the fact that discussions are moving toward concrete development projects. Such practical cooperation is essential to achieving real economic and social outcomes,” Mkrtchyan said.

Ambassador Ibrahim emphasized the importance of capitalizing on current momentum at a roundtable “TRIPP – Eurasian Connectivity in the New U.S. Strategic Landscape,” organized by @USACC.
