The Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND) has adopted the state standard AZS ISO/IEC 42001:2025 “Information Technology – Artificial Intelligence – Management System.”
According to AZSTAND, the new standard establishes comprehensive requirements for risk management, adherence to ethical principles, and ensuring transparency in the application of artificial intelligence technologies.
Before its approval, the standard underwent thorough discussion within the Technical Committee for Standardization “Information and Communication Technologies” (AZSTAND/TC 05). Following a positive expert conclusion, the Institute of Standardization approved the document and included it in the State Fund of Regulatory Documents for Standardization.
The adoption of the new state standard is the implementation of sub-paragraph 8.1.5 of the Action Plan for the execution of the “Artificial Intelligence Strategy for 2025-2028,” which was approved by a decree of the President of Azerbaijan on March 19, 2025.
