BAKU, July 17 — The State Examination Center (SEC) of Azerbaijan has released the results of the university entrance exams held on July 6 for candidates applying to Group II and Group III majors.
Candidates can check their results by visiting the SEC website or by texting the code found on their exam admission sheet to 7727 via local mobile operators (Azercell, Bakcell, Nar, Naxtel).
Out of 41,484 registered applicants (18,014 in Group II and 23,470 in Group III), a total of 1,160 candidates did not attend the exam. Of those who took the test, 12 individuals were disqualified for violating exam rules, and their results were annulled.
Top Scorers Announced
In Group II, the highest score in the second stage of the exam was achieved by Eldar Mansurov, a graduate of School No. 89 in Baku, with 388.3 points. He had previously scored 278.7 points in the first stage.
The overall highest scorer in Group II, based on the combined total from both exam stages, was Nilufar Zeynalli, a graduate of Baku School-Lyceum No. 83. She earned 291.1 points in Stage 1 and 386.8 points in Stage 2, totaling an impressive 677.9 points.
In Group III, the top performer was Aytaj Bakhshalieva from the Natural Sciences Gymnasium in Sumgait. She scored 294.8 in Stage 1 and 397 in Stage 2, achieving a combined total of 691.8 points — the highest overall score in her group.
The maximum possible score in Stage 1 is 300, while Stage 2 carries a maximum of 400 points. Final rankings are determined by the total score from both stages.
Appeals and Review Process
The SEC has opened an Appeals Commission to review complaints regarding the exam results. Candidates wishing to appeal must fill out an online form available on the SEC’s website between 10:00 AM on July 18 and 5:00 PM on July 20.
Late applications will not be accepted.
The commission will not consider appeals related to incorrectly marked answers on the answer sheet that violate instructions — for example, multiple answers selected for a single question or unclear corrections that confuse optical readers.
Before filing an appeal, candidates are encouraged to thoroughly review their individual results, graphical scans of their answer sheets, and the official scoring criteria available on the SEC’s website. The SEC notes that around 15% of past appeals came from applicants who either left the question blank or submitted complaints without reviewing the scoring rubric — such appeals will not be considered.
Authorities continue to urge applicants to approach the appeals process responsibly and well-informed.
