BAKU, August 4, 2025 — Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom have successfully executed their first transaction under the UK Export Finance (UKEF) credit guarantee program, which has a total value of £5 billion.
According to the British Embassy in Baku, the landmark deal involved Silk Way West Airlines securing export financing in the UK for the purchase of a next-generation Boeing 777 flight simulator.
The simulator, developed by UK-based L3Harris Commercial Aviation Solutions, integrates three versions of the Boeing 777 and offers highly realistic training conditions for students at Azerbaijan’s National Aviation Academy.
“The simulator marks a key milestone in bilateral cooperation,” the Embassy noted. “Given Azerbaijan’s strategic location and its growing role in global aviation and logistics, there is strong potential for expanded UKEF-backed partnerships between our two countries.”
