Azerbaijan: 61-Year-Old Man Dies After Rare Bee Sting to the Tongue

ISMAYILLI — September 3, 2025.

A 61-year-old resident of Midjan village in Azerbaijan’s Ismayilli district has died after being stung on the tongue by a bee, Report informs.

The man, identified as Murad Khummatov, was attacked in the yard of his home. He suffered a severe reaction and could not be saved.

Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

While bee stings are a common seasonal risk in rural areas, fatal cases — particularly involving the tongue — are considered extremely rare.
