AZAL to Roll Out High-Speed In-Flight Wi-Fi

Passengers flying with Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) will soon be able to enjoy high-speed in-flight Wi-Fi, thanks to a new strategic partnership with Viasat Inc., a global leader in satellite communications.

As Report writes, the agreement was signed at Dubai Airshow 2025, one of the world’s largest aviation exhibitions, by AZAL President Samir Rzayev and Don Buchman, President of Viasat’s Aviation division. The signing at a global platform underscores AZAL’s commitment to digital innovation and enhanced passenger experience.

20 new aircraft to be equipped with Viasat Amara

Under the partnership, AZAL will equip 20 new aircraft – including Airbus A320 family jets and long-haul Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners – with Viasat Amara, a next-generation satellite connectivity system offering:

  • and stable high-speed data transmission throughout the flight.

Two Airbus A320neo aircraft delivered this year are already operating with the new system installed.

Wireless entertainment onboard

Beyond high-speed internet, the collaboration includes the rollout of a wireless inflight entertainment (IFE) system, allowing passengers to stream video content directly on their personal devices.
