All economy-class tickets on the Tbilisi–Baku route are sold out through the end of August, leaving only business-class seats available. According to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), this creates the impression of a sharp price increase, but the difference between economy and business class is standard practice in international aviation.
Responding to an inquiry from Oxu.az, AZAL noted that despite operating five daily flights between Baku and Tbilisi, tickets during the busy summer season often sell out weeks in advance.
“We always recommend planning trips early and booking tickets as far in advance as possible. This not only allows passengers to choose the most convenient schedule and fare but also helps avoid situations where only premium seats remain,” the airline said.

Given the high demand, AZAL plans to add extra flights in August within its technical capacity. Tickets for these additional flights will start at the lowest available fare.
Currently, the price of a business-class ticket on the Baku–Tbilisi–Baku route with AZAL has reached 1,282 manats (about $753).
