Azerbaijan’s Qarabağ FK suffered a 3–1 defeat against Spain’s Athletic Bilbao in the third round of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Qarabağ stunned the home crowd at San Mamés Stadium by taking the lead in the 1st minute, when Leandro Andrade scored a quick opener. But Bilbao recovered before halftime – Gorka Guruzeta equalized in the 40th minute, bringing the score to 1–1 at the break.
In the second half, Robert Navarro put the Basque side ahead in the 70th minute, and Guruzeta struck again in the 88th, sealing the victory for Athletic.

Qarabağ will play their next Champions League fixture on November 5, when they host Chelsea in Baku.
