Over the past 12 months, Atashgah Sigorta OJSC has recorded the highest complaint index in Azerbaijan’s mandatory motor insurance market, according to data released by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
The regulator reported that Atashgah Sigorta’s complaint index reached 1.52, exceeding the market average and placing the company at the top of the ranking for customer complaints.
The next highest levels of complaint intensity were registered by AtaSigorta OJSC and Xalq Sigorta OJSC, each with a complaint index of 1.41. Meqa Sigorta OJSC ranked fourth with an index of 1.08, also above the market average.
Other insurers posted comparatively lower complaint levels. The index stood at 0.84 for Pasha Sigorta OJSC, 0.83 for Qala Sigorta OJSC, and 0.39 for Azerbaijan Industrial Insurance OJSC, indicating fewer complaints relative to peers.
The complaint index is used by the Central Bank to assess consumer dissatisfaction in the insurance sector, with values above the market average signaling elevated complaint intensity and those below indicating comparatively stronger customer performance.
