Armenia’s Economy Minister Holds Conversation With Azerbaijan’s Agriculture Minister

Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan attended the global Zero Waste Forum in Istanbul, where he held a brief conversation with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov. Papoyan shared the details in a social-media post following the event.

“In Istanbul, I took part in the global ‘Zero Waste Forum,’ which brought together nearly two dozen agriculture ministers. I also held brief conversations with the ministers of Türkiye, Iran, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Iraq on zero-waste initiatives,” he wrote.

Papoyan noted that during the forum he delivered remarks outlining Armenia’s priorities in the field of sustainable development.

“I emphasized Armenia’s priorities of saving water resources and reducing food loss, and highlighted our newly adopted Framework Action Plan for developing a green, sustainable and circular economy,” he said.

The Armenian minister added that the conference brought together senior officials and policymakers from around the world to promote the zero-waste concept at a global level.
