Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said former presidents Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan no longer qualify as his political competitors, noting that debates surrounding previous administrations have lost relevance.
According to Armenian media, Pashinyan made the remarks during a Government Question Hour in parliament.
He stated that all key information regarding past leadership, including issues related to Karabakh, has already been made public and re-examined, leaving little reason to revisit the topic.
“If in the past the opposition could be considered a political competitor, today its role in Armenia’s political life is minimal. In my view, they have long ceased to be competitors,” Pashinyan said.
The comments highlight an ongoing shift in Armenia’s domestic political landscape, where traditional opposition forces have struggled to maintain influence amid broader debates about the country’s strategic direction and governance.
