Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan says building the railway infrastructure for the “Trump Route” (TRIPP, or Zangezur Corridor) may take at least two years.
In an interview with Polish broadcaster TVP World, Mirzoyan said Yerevan is holding talks with the United States to move forward on the project.
“We have agreed on the main principles with our U.S. partners. The next step is to finalize technical solutions and identify the company to carry out the works. I think this process can be completed in the coming months, after which construction could begin,” he noted.

According to Mirzoyan, opening the railway link with Azerbaijan is a strategic priority:
It would allow Armenia to send and receive cargo via Azerbaijani territory.
It would connect the country’s northern and southern regions by rail for the first time.
The plan also foresees using the territory of Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic to enable this north–south connection.
“Currently, there is no such railway connection in Armenia,” Mirzoyan added, stressing Yerevan’s strong interest in launching construction as soon as possible.
