  • 20.842 kg of marijuana.

Both suspects have been arrested, and a criminal case has been opened.

Due to the scale and potential public threat of the crime, the case has been transferred to the Investigative Committee’s Department for High-Profile Cases.

Searches conducted at the suspects’ residences uncovered:

  • two pistols with five rounds of ammunition,

  • additional quantities of methamphetamine and marijuana,

  • counterfeit banknotes,

  • suspicious vials, and

  • used syringes.

Armenian law enforcement agencies have reportedly shifted the focus of drug operations since 2024 from street-level distribution toward detecting large-scale smuggling and production, enabling the interception of more substantial shipments.
