GABALA, Azerbaijan — Several foreign tourists from Saudi Arabia were injured in a serious road accident in Gabala district, with one victim in critical condition airlifted to Baku by helicopter.
According to Oxu.Az, the incident occurred on the road toward the village of Laza when two quad bikes driven by foreign visitors collided. The crash left four people with serious injuries.
Authorities identified the injured as Saudi citizens: Azzah al‑Harbi (born 1978), Yahan al‑Harbi (1973), Shata Almohammadi Abdulsahad (2001), Lana al‑Harbi (2008), and Fares al‑Moham (2004).
All victims were taken to an emergency medical facility for treatment. Doctors say the condition of one of the injured remains critical, prompting an emergency air evacuation to a hospital in the Azerbaijani capital.
Local law enforcement has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
