President Ilham Aliyev toured several new industrial facilities in the Sabirabad Industrial Park and inaugurated a major barley-processing plant in Imishli, underscoring Azerbaijan’s continuing drive to expand local production, boost exports, and diversify its agricultural sector.
Humix Agrochemicals
The President reviewed operations at Humix LLC, a producer of agrochemical products that became a resident of the Sabirabad Industrial Park in 2021.
Using Turkish, Chinese, and local technologies, the company manufactures organo-mineral, chemical (liquid and powder), and granular fertilizers with an annual output capacity of 18,000 tons. Its products will serve both domestic and export markets. The plant employs 16 full-time workers.
The Entrepreneurship Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy provided the company with a preferential loan of 497,000 manats for an investment project valued at 1.45 million manats.
Azera Toxumçuluq Seeds
President Aliyev also viewed the Azera Toxumçuluq LLC seed production enterprise, which applies advanced Turkish technologies to produce standard and hybrid seeds.
The plant’s capacity includes 500 tons of clover seeds, 800 tons of hybrid corn, 350 tons of hybrid sunflower, 2,000 tons of barley, and 2,000 tons of wheat seeds annually.
Raw materials are sourced from the Sabirabad Pilot Agropark and local farms. With an investment of 2.5 million manats, the facility will create 20 permanent jobs, employing residents of Sabirabad and neighboring districts.
Taşobası Cotton Processing Plant
At Taşobası LLC, established in 2023, President Aliyev was briefed on the plant’s operations producing cotton fiber and technical seeds using Turkish, German, and Italian technologies.
Valued at 3.3 million manats, the plant can process 8,000 tons of cotton fiber and 10,000 tons of technical seeds annually.
So far, products worth 2.6 million manats have been sold, including 2.2 million manats in exports. The plant sources cotton from the Neftchala, Salyan, Sabirabad, and Saatli districts, creating 80 factory jobs and 300 seasonal field positions.
Fırtına Su Sistemləri Water Filter Plant
The President also toured Fırtına Su Sistemləri LLC, a water filter manufacturing enterprise established in 2024.
Built with 1.2 million manats in investment, the facility produces filtration and purification equipment based on Chinese technology, including 210,000 filters and 15,000 water purification devices annually.
Products are sold domestically and exported to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey. The plant currently employs 50 people, with plans to expand.
Promalt Barley Processing Plant in Imishli
Later in the day, President Aliyev inaugurated the Promalt LLC barley-processing plant in Imishli, the first modern malt production facility in the South Caucasus.
The fully automated complex, equipped with Swiss Bühler GmbH technology, can process 11,000 tons of barley annually to produce malt – the key raw material for brewing.
With an investment value of 33.2 million manats, the project is a partnership between the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund, Azersheker LLC, and Azersun Holding.
Supported by state investment incentives, Promalt also supplies raw materials to Carlsberg Azerbaijan and employs 47 workers. Officials noted the plant’s strategic importance for deepening agro-industrial integration, ensuring raw material supply stability, and advancing local production.
New Village in Jabrayil
President Aliyev also attended the opening ceremony of the first stage of the newly rebuilt village of Gorovlu in the Jabrayil district, marking another milestone in the restoration of liberated territories.
