Russia’s flagship airline Aeroflot has suspended all flights between Moscow and Tehran until at least August 1, citing extended restrictions imposed by Iranian aviation authorities at Tehran’s airport.
In an official statement, the airline said:
“Due to the extension of operational restrictions (until August 1) by Iran’s aviation authorities at Tehran Airport, Aeroflot has been forced to adjust its flight schedule. All flights between Moscow and Tehran are canceled until the restrictions are lifted.”
Affected passengers are being offered either a full refund or the option to rebook for a later date.
While the airline did not provide specific details on the nature of the restrictions, the move comes amid heightened regional tensions and increased security measures following recent incidents involving strategic sites inside Iran. Analysts suggest the suspension may reflect broader concerns over the safety and stability of air travel in the area.
