SAN MARINO, September 8
Azerbaijan’s rhythmic gymnasts delivered a strong performance at an international tournament in San Marino, bringing home seven medals across senior and junior categories, the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation announced.
Ilona Zeynalova, Govkhar Ibrahimova and Zakhra Jafarova competed in the senior field, while juniors Shams Agaguseynova and Azade Atakishiyeva represented the country in their division.
On the opening day of the finals, Atakishiyeva earned bronze in the all-around with 93.884 points, while Jafarova secured another bronze with 97.650 points.
The medal count grew on the second day. Agaguseynova struck gold twice, topping the ball (23.917 points) and ribbon (24.133) events. Atakishiyeva added another gold in clubs (25.000) and took silver in hoop (24.167). Ibrahimova completed the tally with bronze in clubs, scoring 25.567.
The results mark another successful outing for Azerbaijan’s rhythmic gymnastics program, which has consistently produced podium finishes in European competitions.
