Azerbaijan to Showcase Culinary Heritage at International Gastronomy Days in Paris

Azerbaijan will take part in the International Gastronomy Days in Paris, scheduled for September 11–14, with a pavilion showcasing the country’s culinary and cultural traditions.

The exhibit is being organized by Azerbaijan’s Embassy in France in partnership with the Association Friends of Azerbaijan, according to Report. Visitors will be treated to traditional dishes, wines, as well as performances of national music and dance.

This year, Gabala Hospitality Group, one of Azerbaijan’s leading tourism companies, will spotlight the culinary heritage of the scenic Gabala region. Chefs Elmar Aliyev and Rasim Najafov will present recipes that capture the mountain flavors and rich tastes of the area. Local wines and other regional products will also be introduced.

Guests will be able to sample Azerbaijani pastries such as pakhlava and shekerbura, prepared by Happy Day Cake, while also exploring the country’s long-standing tradition of sweets.

Launched in 2016, the Paris festival has become one of Europe’s major culinary gatherings. This year’s edition will feature participants from more than 60 countries and is expected to attract over 40,000 visitors.
