Azerbaijan’s young judokas made a strong start at the European Youth Judo Championships, winning three medals on the opening day of competition.
According to the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, Nihad Mamishev (–60 kg) and Mehmed Musayev (–66 kg) won all of their bouts to claim European champion titles. Another team member, Nizami Imranov (–66 kg), secured a bronze medal.

With these results, Azerbaijan ranked second overall in the team standings after the first day and took the lead among men’s teams.
