Baku Airport Denies Ban on Online Taxi Services

Reports circulating on social media that Heydar Aliyev International Airport will prohibit online taxi services starting September 8 are not accurate.

According to Oxu.az, claims suggested that only “London-style” taxis would be allowed to operate on airport grounds, sparking concerns among travelers who regularly use app-based services.

In response to the outlet’s inquiry, the airport clarified that no restrictions on ride-hailing platforms are being introduced. Officials said work is currently underway to improve taxi services in order to raise passenger comfort and service quality.

“The public will be officially informed about any new measures once planned improvements are implemented,” a spokesperson for Heydar Aliyev International Airport said.
