BAKU — September 2, 2025 – Another passenger complaint has hit Bolt in Baku, after a ride quoted at 15 AZN allegedly became 30 AZN at drop-off.
According to Patrul.az, a rider ordered a Bolt from Sea Breeze Resort to Khudu Mammadov Street. The app displayed a 15-manat fare, but the driver — license plate 77-QT-389 — allegedly demanded 30 manats instead. When the passenger asked to cancel the trip, the driver reportedly ignored the request.
Witness accounts and local coverage say such complaints have become more frequent, particularly after concerts and mass events, when car supply is tight and some drivers allegedly demand cash top-ups above the in-app tariff.
Persistent complaints, generic replies. Riders and local media note there are regular complaints about Bolt’s service in Baku. Critics say the company has not offered detailed explanations, instead responding with general statements that fail to address specific cases.
Bolt has not issued a new case-specific comment on this incident, according to local reports.
What riders are advised to do
Screenshot the in-app fare, route, and driver details.
Report the incident through the app’s support and keep the case ID.
If money was taken above the app fare, dispute the charge in-app and keep proof of payment.
Where applicable, file a complaint with local consumer or transport authorities.
