Samokov, Bulgaria – Azerbaijan’s Ayhan Javadov has been crowned world champion at the U-20 Wrestling World Championships after a decisive victory over his Armenian opponent.
Competing in the 60 kg Greco-Roman category, Javadov faced Yurik Mkhitaryan of Armenia in the final. The Azerbaijani wrestler delivered a dominant performance, winning 12–5 to secure the gold medal.
The championships in Samokov continue, with two more Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers set to compete for medals later today.
