Baku, August 22 — Honey and other beekeeping products from Azerbaijan’s Kalbajar district are set to enter international markets under the Made in Azerbaijan brand, officials announced during a media tour of the newly opened “Balland” store.
The shop, inaugurated by President Ilham Aliyev on August 21, offers a wide range of local products including honey, propolis, royal jelly, flower pollen, and beeswax. Beyond retail, the store aims to serve as a platform for branding Kalbajar’s honey, promoting local beekeeping, and supporting young apiarists returning to the region.
Beekeeper Ruslan Mustafayev noted that Kalbajar is home to more than 200 honey plants out of 450 found worldwide, giving the local honey its distinctive flavor. Plans are also underway to launch an online sales platform and open a branch in Baku to expand distribution.
