In a shocking crime registered in the village of Ashagi Kurkend in Azerbaijan’s Salyan district, a man named Hasan Asadov (born 1988) was convicted of a series of heinous crimes against a 15-year-old schoolgirl.
According to a report from Oxu.az, Asadov, whose daughter was a classmate of the victim, used a deceptive scheme to establish a relationship with the girl, identified as S.D. The victim’s parents were divorced, and she was living with her paternal grandmother. During this time, Asadov began a relationship with S.D.’s mother, Aysel, promising to help her regain custody of her daughter.
Asadov then used his own daughter to connect with S.D. His daughter called S.D. and told her a friend of her “boyfriend” wanted to meet her, giving S.D. her father’s number under the fake name “Ali.” Asadov, pretending to be Ali, called and eventually coerced the 15-year-old into a meeting. He then sexually assaulted her.
Asadov continued to blackmail S.D. with photos and videos, leading to a series of assaults. The abuse was discovered when S.D.’s father grew suspicious and checked her phone. He found Asadov’s number saved under a female name. S.D.’s father committed suicide by hanging himself shortly after.
Following her father’s death, S.D. moved to Baku with her mother. However, Asadov continued to harass them, posting intimate photos and videos of S.D. online. Aysel reported the harassment to the police, prompting Asadov to remove the content and go into hiding.
After a police investigation, Asadov was located and detained. A subsequent investigation confirmed he had repeatedly sexually assaulted and blackmailed S.D. The Lankaran Court of Grave Crimes sentenced Hasan Asadov to 18 years in prison.
